Jeff Phillips is a qualified accountant and a graduate of the London School of Economics. His career has covered a number of senior finance roles with multi-national companies, and more recently, he was a founder member of a consultancy group which specialises in corporate finance in the telecommunications and IT industries, raising significant investment funds for start-up ventures. He is an advisor to a number of high tech companies. Jeff was a trustee of Shelter from 1997-2007, chair of its Audit Committee, and vice-chair of its Finance Committee. As part of its funding activities, Shelter runs a £10m per annum commercial retail and training operation, which is run on social enterprise principles. He is currently a trustee and treasurer of its sister organisation in Wales, Shelter Cymru, and is involved in their creation of social enterprise activities. In addition Jeff has been a non-executive director of NHS Luton Community Services since 2010, Vice-chair of governors at Manland School, Harpenden, and an appeals panel member for Hertfordshire Education Department.
Ben is a 45 year old married father of 2 children , raised and schooled in Bedfordshire with a very keen interest in sport having represented the county in a number of sports playing regularly for Bedfordshire CCC during the late 1980’s and early 1990s. The co founder of Fashion Brand Distribution company Fourmarketing Limited , started in 1997 and based in Farringdon, London, a business with 90 employees and customers across the whole of Europe , Russia and Middle East Ben and his family became aware of CHUMS as a service user after the death of his son Sidney , aged 13 months in December 2009 , CHUMS counselled his daughter Betsy and the whole family took part in workshops . After 22 years living in London Ben and family relocated after the loss of Sidney back to Bedford where they currently live.
Julian has been a GP in Luton almost 30 years, practising at the Woodland Avenue Practice in Luton. He is currently the Chair of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners. In addition, Julian is Training Programme Director of the Luton Specialty Training Programme for General Practice, also known as the Luton VTS for GP Trainees.
